Last weekend we were in Kuantan for a short break with my parents, kinda like a pay back for not taking Aiden anywhere during his school holidays. Also it was a treat from my Mom, as she was the one who bought the hotel stay during the recent Matta fair and we chipped in by footing in for the food during our holiday. So we packed up the Land Rover with all their ‘stuff’ and off we went.We stayed at The Legend on Cherating Beach. The hotel is nice, we stayed there the last time we were in Kuantan. Love the hotel, the rooms are big and clean and some of the rooms even have a sofa bed so that’s great when you kids or even if you want to share. The room sleeps comfortably for 4 people.
The pool is great, big and they have a nice wadding pool for the kids to enjoy. The beach is clean and is quite private. The first day we were there, we went straight to the beach. Aiden slept all the way to Kuantan, so you can imagine how awake he was when we got there. Daddy and Grandpa drove so they were a bit tired but went along to the beach with the kids anyway. It was Caitlyn’s first time to the beach. I don’t know who was more excited…us or her. I thought she would be a bit scared but no… I was VERY wrong.
My little daughter who is usually a bit ‘siew che’ (a little missy) when it comes to thing like that was chasing the waves! She was sooo cute. I’ll never forget the smile and squeals of excitement from her. She also got to model her bathing suits, presents from her Godma and Aunt Bernie. She just look so cutie, tottering about and playing in the sand. And she just started to establish her walking…she was just bouncing up and down chasing her brother and the waves.
The second day, we were up early, had breakfast at the hotel and off to the pool till late afternoon. Then we went to have ‘kopi’ (coffee) at Hai Peng. A very old and famous coffee shop in Kemaman. A must when you are there.
After that we took the kids to the Turtle Santuary next to Club Med Cherating. Aiden has always wanted to see real sea turtles thanks to National Geographic Channel. Because it not really season yet, the Turtle Santuary is the best bet then. We were very lucky as there was a batch of eggs that just hatched that morning. So we got to see real baby turtle in a tank and we even got to hold one of them!! I was excited! They are just so precious. After that we got back to the hotel and took a stroll on the beach and just hung out there… contemplating our next meal. We finally got out for dinner very late. The kids were just wiped out flat before we even got back to the hotel. Hahaha!!
On Sunday, we were up early again… had a long breakfast and off for a final dip in the pool.We had so much fun. It was Greg’s first time to Kuantan…I only found out when we were on the way there. I think Daddy enjoyed just as much as the kids.
My Daddy had a semi pro camera (his toy) with him and was busy snapping photos of us… So cool… Like we were travelling with a photograher and my Mom busied herself with the video cam (her toy) So quite glamorous lah.. It’s been quiet a while since we (Greg and I) are both in the photos as it’s always one of us who is behind the camera… Now, usually it’s moi, because of my hobbies… and my blog to maintain (ahem!)
I’ve been waiting to post this as I was hoping to complete the layouts but look like it’s not happening anytime soon. As I have no maid now… I have to do all the un-packing and washing (argh!!)The not so fun part after the holiday. So I better just post this first before it gets cold… kakaka!!
Also, I’m covered with sandfly bites!! I’m itching all over, it’s so not funny. I’m scratching like a monkey. I hope this Lucas Papaw Ointments works. Also, something really special happened during this trip… It was really a good surprise, you’ll read about it in my next blog. Also, I have to get down to scrapping!!!
