I’m sure all you loyal followers of my humble blog already knew that I was in Singapore for Kylie’s concert…. But what some of you didn’t know is that I nearly did not make it… NO! Actually I told myself, not going is not an option at all!! Sigh! My life is just so full of drama… it just follows me everywhere… I really could do with alot less of it sometimes…I need a break too!

You see what happened was.. You know my maid has actually gone back to Indonesia for a month (puh-leeze don’t ask me why now..it’s another drama all together!! :-( ) So I’m left with no maid, that means all my plans for this trip is upset. I have no one to look after Caitlyn!! Aiden is easily sorted by sending him to my MILs’. But Caitlyn is another story… she’ll not go to anyone except moi and my Mom, but my Mom can’t take leave… I nearly had to bring her along to Singapore… but that means I’ll have to look for somewhere else to stay (initially Josh and I was suppose to stay with Roslan) and Josh doesn’t think that that’s such a good idea with a baby in tow… :-( To cut the whole story short, at last Josh asked Roslan and he was so kind to take me and baby in too just as long as he doesn’t have to look after Caitlyn… :-P But in the end all fell into place.. I didn’t have to drag Caitlyn along. My Mom suddently manage to get Monday off (I think after she found out how important and how much the tickets cost! :-P ) and my aunt agreed to babysit on Tuesday and Wednesday. Trust me, it sound all so simple now but the situation wasn’t so those few days leading up to Saturday evening when I left for Singapore…. so that’s DRAMA #1

DRAMA #2

On the day of the concert… The concert is at 8pm. We left Roslan’s house at 735pm… a little late but who would have thought that there’ll be any jam in Singapore. According to Roslan, the journey from his home in Commonwealth to the National Indoor Stadium is usually about 20 mins on the highway… it took us almost 45 mins to get there. For no reason at all it was SO jam!! :-( I was totally torn. Roslan was driving like a mad person, changing lanes and all… very un-Singaporean like. I was silent in the car… but deep down inside I was screaming. This could be be worst thing for me… I thought.. “I can’t belief that I’ve made it so far, after all the drama of arranging to come and then THIS!!!! Arrrggh!! I’ll miss the opening of the show! I miss the opening of my Kylie concert!!” But I still remained silent in the back seat, I think the driver is already stressed enough (judging from his driving!! ) and he really doesn’t need someone stressing him out some more, and there is really nothing he can do anyway!

Another thing that really almost killed me was.. I really don’t know my way around Singapore, well, I only know my way around Orchard Rd and there abouts, so sitting there I really don’t know where on earth I am or how far away I am! I was looking outside and trying to figure it out but had no idea.. so I started to distract myself by ‘enjoying the views of the city and the Singapore Flyer’ :-| Trying to remain as calm as possible and trying hard to ignore the incoming SMSes from my friend who is already in the stadium waiting for us!! Then I said “Ah! The Singapore Flyer is very beautiful at night.. ” :-D No reply from Josh and Roslan in front… Later they were all laughing at me about it… saying ” Who the F@#* cares what the Singapore Flyer looks like at night at that moment!!!” It’s quite funny now.. but not then… And to make matters worst (yes… it got worst!!) Roslan was SO stressed up he took a wrong turn!! I was SO ready to jump out of the car and walk there! In the mean time my friend Ken who was already in the stadium SMSed me again and informed me that it was no where near starting… I was SO relief! We took a long detour to the stadium but we finally arrived there, parking was a problem, so Roslan dropped me off at the entrance (I was wearing almost 4 inch heels!! WHAT? It’s Kylie ok, of course I’ll dress up!!) while they went to search for a parking and I went to check for a ticket for Roslan. You see, initially Roslan was not going for the concert, only last minute while we were leaving the house he decided that he might go and was gonna decide in the car… But after all that we had gone through… I don’t think not going is an option for him either!! ;-) We got Roslan’s ticket and ran inside.

Finally inside…

When we got inside.. I could finally breathe… I’m here!! I’m here!! I saw my other friends there OMG!! They really came in Drag! So cool! (You can see them in my photos) Oh! And we even had time to take some photos and then the lights out.. the show began. I can belief it… It’s like she was waiting for me to arrive! I know I’m tooting my own horn but it really felt like that… :-P

The SHOW…

The show was fantastic!! It’s all I had imagined it to be.. SHE is all that I had imagine her to be… FABULOUS!!! I’ve played this scene in my mind so many times in the pass few weeks.. nothing can prepared me for this very moment, how I felt… I was star struck!! I actually felt a little tear rolled down my cheek… (I’m so shy.. *blush*) I thought that’ll only happen to teenagers!! I guess it’s all the drama and all the things I had to go through to come for her concert, I’m finally here. The feeling is so surreal.

She sang all my favorites and more… and she looks SO good, lost some weight from since her Homecoming concert in Melbourne. But I must say that the stage was a bit of a let down though.. Nothing special, very plain.. there was no little runway ‘thingy’ and she just walked in and out from the side of stage. :-( It was really not her standard kind of stage. Many people say that it’s because it’s a very low budget… others say that it’s because there’s no such facilities in Singapore… But really, it’s ok, I got my wish! She danced the whole night and we really felt that she really sincerely was there for her fans and there was a little ‘thank you’ for those of ‘US‘ that have waited for her for 3 years to come back! And when she sang ‘ I should be so lucky’ I cried again… Oh, I really can’t believe it!! Roslan and Josh laughed at me… :-P  I just felt SO lucky to be there.. My wish came true… :-)

P/S: Thanks Love for buying me the tickets to watch my Goddess on stage..

This is the part 2 of the earlier post. On the second day… upon my request we went to Food Republic again, this time on Orchard Rd in Wisma Atria. This is where I discovered more yummy food… This is my favorite (ate it for two days in a row! ;-) )

Dan Xiao Mien

My brother told me that it’s a China thing.. There’s many different varieties to it… with pork ribs, beef/tripe/balls, chicken feet etc. On top of that you have either choose to have it in soup or dry. This one that I had for dinner is with beef and soup. Yummy! This is how the noodle is made (kinda like pan mee here in KL) Watch It here. Dan Xiao Mien

Other things that we ate were this Mee Pok. Seems to be my brother and his girlfriend Pei Li’s favorite. They ate this for 2 days in a row.. hehehe!

Mee Pok

Mee Pok is actually the name of the noodle. You can choose what you want to add to it and it’s seasoned with some onion and garlic oil, chili sauce, soy sauce, tomato sauce, dark soy sauce and pepper. Also very Yummy!

Other things that we ate were

Chicken Wings

and this tau foo thing (i’m not very sure what it’s called) My brother seems to like it.
