Mohawk

Check out my little cool dude man!! Aiden really looks cool in any hairstyles.. He has always love to wear his hair in the funkiest styles, but this one really tops it ALL off lah! I guess being a kid also helps… he is not shy when it comes to his hair.

He actually got it last week so he has been sporting this for a week now. After we came back from the barber it wasn’t quite right so we had to go to Mommy’s saloon to ‘get it right’. I posted his photo into my FB and everyone loved it! Everybody thought that it was Daddy’s idea but actually Aiden was the one who wanted it. He said…

Aiden: I want to shave my head on the side and leave just the center all the way back.

Me: A MoHAWK!!?

Aiden: (not knowing what is a mohawk..) Urm.. Just shave lah the sides and just hair in the center like dat.. (tracing out the shape with his hand on his head)

Me: Ya lah!! A mohawk!!  **pengsan**

I think he saw it when I was watching GLEE. Daddy on the other hand was telling me not to do it, worried how is he gonna go to school in that funky style. Actually that was the question from everybody after the “Wah!!” and then it’s, “Can meh go to school like that?”

Well… we’ll soon find out but I think we’ll have to go get it ‘toned down’ a little. Gonna get a number 1 so that it’s not so obvious (if that’s possible..) :-D

But I think he just looks TOO cool!! We took them to Ikea Smaland, wen we went to claim him and Caitlyn, I was waiting my turn to pick them up and the attendant didn’t even ask for my number and said, “Aaaa itu mohawk ya? Dengan Aiden dia… ” And everywhere we went he is turning heads.. LOL!! ;-)

Tonight we Chinese celebrate  Mid Autumn Festival, the 15th day of the first month Lunar Year. Usually the children will play with lanterns and the adults will enjoy mooncakes and have tea. When I was a kid that’s exactly what my brothers and cousin will do while the adults will sit around sipping their prized collection of tea and nibble on mooncakes. We (the kids) will try to out do each other with our lanterns… :-) I kinda miss those times…

Last night we had dinner with my parents and some friends sort of to celebrate this day. Although my Dad did buy Aiden a battery operated ‘lantern’ he wasn’t really interested in carrying it around last night. Instead he asked for a traditional one with candles and all… I was wondering why? Maybe he saw other kids having that? Well, then I reminded him of his ‘lion dance’ lantern that Kung-Kung has bought for him a couple of weeks ago… He said “Yeah…but I want the candle type. So that I can burn it!!” :-( I said NO!  Sigh! My son… So later at dinner he just played with some candles and soon got bored having to keep lighting them up when the wind blew them out.

Tonight, is the actual day but we didn’t do anything Mid Autumn-my… Instead my parents, Caitlyn and I was in Ikea shopping for curtains and finally I bought my dressing table. After more then a year I finally have my dressing table! Anyone who knows me and how vain I am would’ve thought that I would have a really elaborate dressing table with all my lotions and potions all decked out, arranged according to it’s uses and colors in rows and rows of drawers… you are very wrong. Wait till you see it. I’ll post a picture of it when I’m done. I actually settled for something really simple, just so that I have a dressing table.  ;-)

So that’s how I spent my Mid Autumn festival, no mooncakes or tea, infact I didn’t even see a lantern anywhere. kekeke!!
