“Gasp!! Is she 1 already!!!” 0.o That’s the respond that I got from almost everybody that I called to come to her party.. Everything was of course kinda last minute too..but not SO last minute like Cait’s birthday la.. (Sigh! I’m saying that so often these days I’m sick of myself.) I’m just thinking while planning this party… Since their birthdays are so close, I might just celebrate them together in future. Save money and save me alot of planning and time! But for this one.. Is our little princess’ first birthday.. So let her have a birthday party all to herself!
Anywhoo.. So the party was last Saturday which also falls on the same day as one of my best buddies (Buq)’s wedding with Nani in the morning. So I had to move my party to the evening instead, as most of us will be at that wedding anyways. So it was a pretty loooong day for us parents.
We had the party at home where I thought the kids will be most comfortable. Started making the decorations a week ahead. The cake was a lovely Red Velvet Cake covered with fondant icing and decorated with fondant strawberries and flowers also made 3 days before to set.
The food as catered… I cannot possibly manage that even with a maid for 50 over guest. I was really worried at first if our house would fit 50 over adults and 17 psychotic kids and a clown… After the party now I know I can! Maybe even a little more if I have more plastic chairs at hand.
All in all… It was a really lovely party. I’m so happy everyone came and enjoyed the party. The clown was a fun addition and really rocked the party for the kids. Now I’m kinda worried…. I would be expected to top that for the next party
Oh Well… I’ll think of something… It wouldn’t be fun for me if it was too easy ain’t it? **roll eyes**
As for the birthday girl… I don’t know if she enjoyed the party much tho.. She wasn’t feeling too good to begin with. Stuffy nose and cough. She was so tired and drowsy, she actually was going to fall asleep at 5pm.. That’s when people started arriving and all the activity kept her awake but not so in the mood…
She was quite a trooper and did not throw a fuss throughout the night but just not so herself… But I think she did enjoy the clown show when the pigeon flew around the living room. That got her excited for awhile. On the other hand the older brother and sister together with the other kids had a time of their lives! I guess it was all the sugar from the candy bar I’ve set up, the cupcakes, plus the clown… combination of all that and they were wild! After the clown magic show, it was balloon time and Caitlyn was the first one to request for one and guess what she wanted… a pink sword..
Ended up every kid in the room wanted a sword and it was like a scene from Three Kingdoms!! **pengsan** True enough what Henry said to Bernie “This is gonna end in tears..” and guess who cried first.. Ethan Voo (one of Caitlyn’s many boyfriends, but she says this is the one that’s gonna marry her). So yes.. he started crying and followed by many other ‘casualties’.
We finally ended the party at about 10-ish… I guess it was the mummies and daddies that wanted to go, coz the kids were still running up and down the stairs… Sigh!
I must say that it went really well. even by my standards.. **Wakakakaka!!** There’s just one thing that I really would have done differently is to actually get someone to take proper photos for me in the future… It has happened to me SO many times before and I still never learn!!!! Damned! I’m loading the photos and kicking myself.. I don’t even have a proper family shot with Emme in front of the cake! No photos of her ‘blowing’ the candle… It’s just a royal mess.. And people would have thought since my brother is some photographer I would end up with lots of nice shots… Sigh! I guess I just like get REAL and stop expecting them to get it right!
So that’s it! I’m done for now.. till Aiden’s birthday in November…
