This morning while having breakfast with fellow blogger life trek, Caitlyn decided to do her poo poo right there in her baby chair. So we had to go… I was about to drive straight home to clean her up but she started screaming her pretty little head off in the car. So I thought, “Why not just go to BV (Bangsar Village) to change her” and I also needed to go to the supermarket. Getting a parking was a breeze because it was still very early in the morning and off to the loo we went. Then the drama started while I was cleaning her… After many, many many wet wipes…. her bum bum was still.. let’s say, messy. All the time while I was wiping her down I thought to myself.. ” Damn I don’t remember her eating so much yesterday… ” I thought that was the end of it until I lifted her up to put a fresh nappy that I saw that all over the small of her back was covered with poop!! Aiyo!!! So how lah?? More wet wipes!! 

Then I remembered that I only brought with me her small diaper bag with no change of clothes! *fainted* Of all the times that I always bring that giant diaper bag with everything you can think of inside… (I swear to you it’s like a mini nursery) I didn’t this morning… and it is this morning that I needed something from there. 

So after more wet wipes… I slapped on her fresh diaper and rinsed out her top, I hugged her (all the time trying to cover her as much as possible with my arms) protecting my precious daughter’s modesty… I ran like that to FOS to buy her a new top. She… was giggling all the way thinking it was a game. When I arrived at the shop it was not opened yet (more drama). I had to beg the shop assistant to open a little earlier so that I can get a top for my poor topless daughter…

So lesson learn today… BRING A CHANGE OF CLOTHES… you’ll never know when on earth you’ll need it!

This is so post dated… 

Aiden turned 5 on the 2nd of November… that’s 14 days ago (2 weeks!!) I’m such a bad Mom… But better late then never. I promised that I’ll write this post, so here it is. 

This year we didn’t have any party for him… He didn’t want one  Infact, he actually wanted to go to the beach for his birthday (this is after he saw photos from our Rawa trip) But unfortunately, because we live in this wonderful tropical country where we have monsoon around this time of the year. It is impossible to go Rawa and I think they close the island during the monsoon anyway. So I tried to have a little party for him but somehow it didn’t happen. We had so many things happening and parties and dinners because many of our relatives came back from all 3 continents to attend ‘Kam Mou’s (Greg’s aunt) 80th birthday party.

It may sound very sad for the little boy but please don’t feel sorry for him… This year he is super happy on his Birthday. No only is he finally 5 (to him is a great thing) he also got his much coveted Nintendo DS!! On top of that… Godpa Paul came over with a birthday cake, Po Po and Kung Kung brought pizza to have a little party for him. A few days later Ma Ma and Yeh Yeh (greg’s parents) had another little party for him over at theirs’ complete with ice cream cake and all…

A few days before his birthday someone asked me how old he is. I said that he’ll be 5 in a few days… but he was quick to correct me that he is not yet 5. I asked him then when? I thought he’ll count the days but he said

“I’ll be 5 when I’ve blow out the candles and ate the cake!”   

 

3 days ago, on the 10th of November, was exactly one year that I’ve started my blog. Althought I’ve been really busy and not very blog active lately, I feel like I really should write something. Actually to be honest, I really didn’t remember the exact date, but I kinda knew that it was around this time of the year that I’ve started my blog. Luckily I have it in my iCal, don’t remember putting it in though… So 3 days ago I got a ‘PING’ with the reminder…

It actually doesn’t feel like as if it’s been a year that I have been blogging. It’s a good sign, means that I actually do enjoy it. There’s something about it that is very therapeutic. Initially I started this blog as a way to ’show off’ my LOs and also a great way for all the relatives from all over the world to catch up with what’s happing here. Also, I thought I could make some pocket money from paid post, but that didn’t quite happen…  But with all that… I must say that I’ve actually learnt alot trying to make this blog ‘work’. So really… no regrets at all! 

My hopes is that some day Aiden and Caitlyn will somehow find this blog when they are all grown up and get to read all the stuff about themselves. 

What happened to my maid?

Well, there’s some complications with her travel documents and she needs to go back to Indonesia to sort it out, and we don’t know how long that’s gonna take till she can come back or if she can come back. So now I’m looking out for a temporary maid to help me out at least with the house work. Anyone know of any? 

So because of all these… you might be hearing even less from me after this. I don’t know how things will be like or how busy I’ll be when Tini leaves tomorrow. Or I might be house bound because I so not bothered to go out, that I’ll have more time to scrap and write… I don’t know. We’ll see. But I promise I’ll update all the important stuff especially Aiden’s birthday… I owe him lah!! (Such a bad Mommy) That will be like a HUGE missing page from his ‘book’ like that! 

Jazzmint: I guess I’ll be doing what you were doing a couple of months ago… kekeke! Let’s see how I cope.  Well, at least I don’t have to go to work, I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not.

Mommy's Treasure

This year Aiden’s school concert was held on the 1st of November at the MAS Academy in Kelana Jaya. I’ve been so busy and caught up with everything that I only now have the time to scrap these pages and post them up!!  (smack wrist) 

His class joined up with the next class to do Peter Pan. It’s actually one of Aiden’s favorite stories, also because it’s Daddy’s favorite as well. He was asked to play Captain Hook but he refused. His headmistress thought that he will be perfect for the role When he came home I asked him why did he refuse to role? He said because Captain Hook is the bad guy and he is so mean… I told him that it’s only acting and besides… Captain Hook is Daddy’s favorite. I think I shouldn’t have said that because I think I saw a little bit of regret on his face after that… Silly me! 

Anyway he still ended up being one of the pirates only that he is not the ‘Tai Kor’ of the bad guys.. In the end I think he really enjoyed the role and he did very well too. He makes a very cute pirate!

Journalling reads

This year for your annual school concert your class did Peter Pan, one of your favorite stories. You were actually picked to be Captain Hook but you didn’t want the role… when I asked you why, you said because he is so mean. But in the end you ended up being one of the pirates anyway. Your teachers all think that you make such a fine pirate. We think so too, and a very handsome one at that!! One of your teachers even say that you didn’t even have to act! Hmm.. Mommy is not so sure if that’s a compliment…

You did very well. And you look SO cute in your pirate costume. You and your friends were so adorable the whole auditorium cheered and clapped during the play… Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you… our little pirate! 

 

So that’s my crazy week… After this I’m hoping that things will slow down a little and things will get back to normal again. I actually didn’t really plan anything for Aiden as this week is just too packed! So… I’m thinking next weekend we’ll do something special for him. Infact, Greg, Uncle Eugene and I have already bought his birthday present today… a Nintendo DS. Yup! Lucky boy alright! I think he’ll love that ,more then anything… I know that he has been yearning for it after he saw some boys at school playing with theirs’ at school. He didn’t really ask for it… He saw it at the Digital mall when I took him there when I brought my printer to be fixed and the saw it again at the games stall… I saw ‘that’ look on his face… He held on to my leg and kept calling me “Mommy.. Mommy…” with that puppy dog face… sigh! 

Oh! And on top of all that… Greg is in The Star paper today, in the Metro section. Go check it out!! 

So that’s that… 2 more days to go… 

9teen Months

Caitlyn is 19 months old…In a few months time we’ll be celebrating her 2nd birthday. So fast!!? Yeah…I know.

For a 19 months old baby I think she is way advanced for her age. Many people say it’s because she has a brother to learn from. I do think so too. Anything Aiden does she’ll follow. Anything Aiden likes she likes. Anything Aiden has she’ll want a share too… even all the boys stuff As a result of that, she behaves like a boy most of the time (much to my dismay) And Greg will off and on tease me saying… “So much to your hopes of sending her for ballet..” 

But luckily she’s not all tomboy, she only follows her brother… she is really a girly girl at heart. She loves all the girl stuff like soft toys, handbag, shoes, pink… She’ll do her little twrilly dance and butt shake whenever she hears a tune that she likes… Like what Greg said is true, children are products of their environment… there’s a very, very slight chance my daughter will grow up to be a tomboy.

Milestone at 19 months:

• Has altogether 12 teeth. She was very grouchy for a few weeks before this and ate very little because the 2 molars at the bottom were coming out. It must have been very painful… poor dear. 
• She is no longer on a diet!! Yeah!! She has gotten back her appetite and is eating better now. It must have been because of the molars. 
• Wants to eat on her own… but she really is a messy eater!! She’ll end up covered with food after a meal.  Although she tries to use the fork and spoon, she end up using her hands anyway.. So we try to give her more finger food. 
• She can count 1-10!! And 5-1 backwards, thanks to Little Einsteins! 
• Has a temper to match her mother…  (I’m not so sure if that’s a milestone.. keke)
• She has also expanded her vocabulary. She can say quite a few words now, quite clearly. Sometimes she’ll surprise us with a full sentence like, “Where you going?” and “What you doing?” I guess it’s because we are always ‘going’ somewhere and I’m always checking on them (Aiden and her) and asking “What are you doing?” :-P 
• Calls everyone by name in the family like Dadi, Popo, Kung Kung, Jiu Jiu, Kor Kor, Yeh Yeh….and she calls me Mi or sometime Mi mi Very cute! And she calls our maid Ga Ga. 
• She’ll be screaming “Shoos! Shoos!” whenever she wants to go out. Then she’ll go off looking for her shoes and handbag… Sigh!

What Mommy and Daddy was afraid of really happened… The doctor recommends that you wear glasses or there might be a chance that your eyesight will get worst or you might develope lazy eyes. So Daddy and I got you to an optician to get you  a pair of glasses. I was worried how you’ll handle it with all the running and jumping about,You are not exactly the type that sits still, but luckily the doctor said that you’ll only need to have them on whenever you are watching tv,playing video games and when you are reading or writting.

We were also worried about how you’ll take it…having to wear glasses and if the other kids at school will make fun of you or not. So we quickly kind of like ‘briefed’ your teacher and both pairs of grandparents not to over re-act when they see you or made you feel any less just because you wear glasses now. But looks like all our worries are out the window, you  are so comfortable with the glasses and you look so, so cute and handsome!!

For some of you who have been following my blog will remember that Aiden had some eye allergy a few weeks back. I wrote about it in this post. Well, after the follow up check-up, the doctor recommended that he wears glasses… Greg and I were worried about this and that… sigh! But Aiden has been such a trooper… looks like it just Mommy and Daddy who is all worried about nothing. He didn’t make a peep, went to the optician, got fitted and wore the glasses as if he has been wearing forever…  Don’t you think he looks so cute?

Well, the doctor says that it may not be permanent. It might get better, it might not.. We’ll have to take him to get checked again in 6 months time and we’ll know. But at the moment he’ll have to wear the glasses when he is in front of the tv and whenever he reads and writes.
