This photo was taken at Rawa Island. We were soon having fun and started to relaxed. Leaving KL was the hardest thing (well, for me anyway) I don’t think we’ve ever been anywhere for a holiday without both the kids. So I actually had to get used to not having to do anything and chasing them around!! LOL!! :-D

So I guess you’ve all seen the photos from our Rawa trip. It IS really as gorgeous as what you see in the photos … and even more. And mind you, we only used a point and shoot camera ya.. No ‘canggih’ SLR camera used. The water is so clear, it’s like we are swimming in a swimming pool except it’s salty :-D

We left for Rawa on the 13th for 3 days and 2 nights… I was SO tempted to stay for an extra night but we didn’t. Have to come back and besides, I was really missing the kids. Yes.. we went without the kids… It was just us and ‘the gurls’. Greg was the only straight guy in our group (as usual) I think it’s the first time (ever since they came along) that we actually went for a holiday without them. Leaving them behind was the hardest thing… well for me at least. But it was nice to have time to just be with our friends and do ‘adult’ stuff. So as you can imagine we were drinking from about noon till we went to bed!

We had SO much fun there… ofcourse the company matters alot! I was literary in stiches the whole time we were there. We laughed so much and did so many silly stuff.. Amongst the activities (in lieu of the Olympics season) was gymnastics, synchronize swimming, sand castle building competition, kite flying…. and sunbathing (practising for when we go to hell next time woh.. :-D ) And we were also re-making all the MTVs that has ever been filmed on the beach… ie: Cherish (Madonna), Honey (Mariah Carey) and there was even a scene from Titanic and Evita. *kekeke*

For those of you who are wondering where this paradise on earth is…. It’s actually in Johor. You’ll need to drive up to Mersing and take a 20 minute boat ride to the island. What’s great about this island (besides the sun, sea and sand) is that accomodation is limited and so there for it’s NOT crowded like Redang is now. So if you want to go you have to book early.

Greg and I stayed at the Safaris, which is the nicer resort. The rooms come with hot water and AC and 3 meals provided for about RM 380 a night per pax. Other then that, everything else is pretty much standard, nothing fancy. The other choice is to stay at the Le Club Rawa, which is really, really basic. To me it’s like going camping on a beach but much, much more comfortable. But the great thing about this place is that the beach is literary at your doorstep. The next time we go (this time with the kids) we want to stay at the Le Club Rawa.

I never use to enjoy the food in Singapore.. Infact, good food never use to be one of Singapore’s main attractions. But this time round I must say that I’ve ate more then I should. Usually food courts will be the last place I would think that I’ll find decent food, but in Singapore it’s food court paradise. It’s where you can get all the yummy food in one place! That’s sinful!! ;-) We actually ate two days in a row in Food Republic. This food court is very different, with it’s elaborate decor and ambience and extensive choice of hawker fare and some stand alone push carts. It’s something not to be missed.  One the first day we went to the one in Suntec City Mall. I was just spoiled for choice but in the end this is what we ordered..

Beef Noodle

This was so-so… Not something that I’ll order again.

Hong Kong Noodles with Roasted Pork

This is actually wanton noodles. The roasted pork was good and the noodles was had a bite to it.

Fried Prawn Hokkien Noodle

My Mom’s favorite. What we call Hokkien Mee here is black but the Singaporean version is this. But it’s really yummy. It’s served with sambal belacan and some lime on the side.

We actually had other stuff but :-D We were so busy stuffing our mouths we forgot to take photos… Hehehe!

Enjoying our food!
