How many ways do you think you can eat ‘tau foo far’? Well many apparently… I was at Curve last yesterday with my Mom and Caitlyn when we chanced upon this store that sells soy bean milk and ‘tau foo far’. I’m usually not the soya bean kinda person but what caught my attention was the way she served her soy bean milk and ‘tau foo far’. Amongst the many varieties that you can choose from are soy bean milk with chewy pearl beads inside (this is kinda like the bits that you find in those taiwanese pearl milk teas),the green stuff in cendols…Then there’s the ‘tau foo far’ … You can choose from ‘tau foo far’ with lychee (Mommy Jazzmint can take Faythe, I remember she likes
), sea coconut and white fungus, cincau, red bean, tong yuen, chocolate chip (yes..you read it right) and many more. I tried the one with sea coconut and white fungus, not too bad. A chage from having boring ‘tau foo far’ just plain. But why this store deserves a post in my blog is because I personally have to give it to this lady for being innovative enough to come up with something like that… taking something that has been around forever like ‘tau foo far’ and putting a twist to it. I thinks that’s great. Do stop by her stall if you are at Curve/Ikano for a bowl of her ‘tau foo far’.
What did we have…
Roasted Piggie *of course*
Grilled Chicken in a bed of fries and some olives **very YUMMY and I’m still wondering how do they get it so juicy moozy..**
Salad **very sweet tomatoes and the dressing is just right**
Grilled Fish **this is really, really YUMMY! YUMMY! A must try!!**
Prawns cooked in some tomato based sauce
And this place bakes their own bread, you must give any restaurant that bakes their own bread.I’m sorry I’m not familiar with all the Portuguese names of the dishes and their menu is in Portuguese but thank goodness they do have a picture menu. So you can have a looky looky. So, was it worth the wait? YES! YES! YES! And yes… it definitely did live up to my expectation and worth the wait. Never seen my husband ate so much before!

So how do you get to this place? It’s located on the Coloane Island, (it’s the last one) on Hac Sa ( black sand) beach. You really can’t get lost, it’s an island. If anything at all just ask anyone there…they will know, it’s famous. Another thing to try while you are in Coloane is the infamous Portuguese egg-tart. The most famous one and supposedly the original one is right here on Coloane it’s called Lord’s Stowe.
