I hardly scrap about Greg… without the kids in it too. Just like I hardly scrap about myself. I don’t really have a lot of pictures of him at work. He is always away on nightstops and usually all the places that he goes we are not there. And all the pictures that he takes with his friends and colleagues I hardly get to see (maybe I’m not suppose to see..) And even when I get to see some of them, I find it hard to scrap about it as I’m not ‘connected’ to it because I’m not there. I think if you are a scrapper you know what I mean (or is it just me?) So….
Anyways… I’ve always wanted to make a page like this but was lack of a good photo. Even this one was him camwhoring in the cockpit and I found it at random in the computer..
So I made this page… Our Everyday Hero…when he is not at home with us…
Greg and I will be going for our Gunung Tahan hike tonight. We leave on a train to Pahang and start our hike tomorrow morning. For the past few days we’ve been busy preparing for our ‘journey’ up the highest peek in Peninsular. Greg has been really ‘kan cheong’ about our trip and particularly me… whether or not I’ll be fit enough to make it to the peak. So he has been hustling me to the gym to get in shape for our climb. It’s been really crazy around here so I must say that I haven’t been really training but I think I’ll be ok… if not I guess I’ll be paying prices soon!
In fact many people are really surprise that I’ve actually agreed to go! Ha! Ha! I’m surprise at myself too!! But I thought it’ll be really great to do this together with Greg. The last time he did Mount Kinabalu by himself and I kinda felt a bit left out… So this time round I thought he’ll be thrilled that I’m going with him.
So like I said we’ve been busy preparing for the trip.. He even took me to Perth with him to go shopping for equipment and stuff! Very serious…
Day before yesterday we went shopping for our food supply. And as some of you who knows us will know that Greg is quite a geek… This is the extent of him planning for our food and what to bring along…
Yes… he is actually counting calories and weight down to the final packet of Maggie Mee! Every single grams and calorie matters!!! Very cute but I know he is very worried about weight and if I can cary my pack or not. Sigh! How le.. Wish me luck lor hor…
Yesterday Greg left for his first night stop flight. After spending almost 1 and a half months on ground (pretty much driving me and the kids up the wall!!) he is finally doing some flying. After all these years of flying he has never had a stop over so I guess the kids are not used to the idea of Daddy not coming home for the night. Well, he has been away before for training and stuff… But I guess it’s different.
I guess G didn’t tell Aiden that he is going for a night stop flight… Aiden ask me what is a night stop…
It’s quite ironic for me to explain to him what is a night stop. The term use to be SO common to me during my trolley dolly days… now seems quite foreign to me, it actually took me awhile to put the 1 and 1 together to explain it to him…
Then this morning, I woke up to find Caitlyn running around the house (checking everything and everyone, my little Goon Ka Poh) looking for her Daddy. She went searching in toilet in my room, hoping to find her Daddy sitting on his throne as usual every morning for the past 1 and a half months (which would seems to a 2 year old like forever). But no daddy to be found… Then when I came out of the room… I overheard her telling her brother
Daddy gone!! Daddy gone!!
When she saw me (lagi drama..), She ran to me with a frowning kept saying “Daddy gone!!”
So, Daddy if you are reading this… Next time when you go for night stop, please tell your children where you are going and when you are coming home kay!
