Bitten!!

Yesterday Cait was bitten by a dog!! Yes..

We were at my aunt’s apartment in Bukit Utama after a whole day of rushing about. So what happened?

The 2 maids (mine and my aunt’s) went upstairs to my other uncle’s house to get an extra gas tong from there as they have ran out. And they took Caitlyn along with them. I was feeding the baby back at my Aunt’s apartment. I don’t know how long they were gone because I fell asleep while feeding the baby totally flat from picnic and 3D sculptures, just all the rushing and moving the herd around… When my aunt, mom and grandma came back from SS2 I woke up… Not long after that, the whole apartment was abuzz with commotion. My mother came rushing into my cousin sister’s room (where I was feeding the baby) carrying a screaming Caitlyn saying that she was bitten by a dog!! I swear I could feel my heart tighten that very instance… I was bracing myself for the worst from the way she was crying and how guilty my maid looked! When I saw the bite mark, I felt a mix of emotions… I don’t know which came first or if it all happened simultaneously… It was ‘sum tong’ (heart pain), relieved (coz it not as bad as I expected) and then I’m sure the last was anger. Now sitting here writing about it I think I know lah.. It was relieved, ‘sum tong’, and then anger…  This is what the bite mark looked like yesterday…

Bitten!!

What an irresponsible pet owner!! Apparently according to my uncle that lives on the same floor, the dog has bitten my aunt twice!! And she (the owner) never bother to lock up the dog… Stupid or not?

So after the maids brought Caitlyn back, I asked them what actually happened? I thought Caitlyn was playing with the dog and somehow aggravated it or something… But no, my aunt’s maid said that they were walking towards my uncle’s house ad suddenly this crazy dog ran out and attacked  Caitlyn!! I was about to take Cait out to see a doctor and to check if she will be needing a jab (just in case!!) and the dog owner SMSes my aunt to apologize and explain what happened… On top of that she said that ‘he’ (the dog) never attack kids…  At this point I had a million outburst of profanities in my head but had to keep calm lah… And she said that she has already cleaned and applied some ointment to the wound but if we decide to take her to the doctors, please bill her for it… HAH!! BUT OF COURSE!! The doctors’ bill is nothing ok… What about he trauma my daughter went through? How to calculate that?

But I really have to time for her lah.. My aunt quickly drove us to the nearest clinic to have the wound checked. The doctor examined the wound and  said that it’s not a bite mark but a scratch but it’s pretty deep… So the nurse cleaned the wound and applied some medicine. Caitlyn as to be on antibiotics for 3 days but no jab necessary.

Of course needless to say, our little princess got major attention and manja from everyone that night lah… I think she was more shocked then in pain.. She has always loved animals and have no fear of them… I hope this incident won’t changed that.. If not it’ll be such a shame.

Cleaned and dressed
