First Sports Day

Yesterday Aiden’s kindergarten had their Sports Day. This will also be Aiden’s first official Sports Day. We all had to wake up very, very early at 630am!! :-( Even my little champ who has been VERY excited and was all hyped up weeks prior to the race found it very hard to open his eyes. I almost had to use a spade to peel him out of bed! My usually easily woken up princess was no different, she would even open her eyes when I shook and tickled her! Too bad Daddy cannot come because he was already leaving for flight as we were waking up then. But Kung Kung and Po Po will joins us later.

We finally got to the Bukit Jalil Stadium just on time for Aiden to join up for the line-up on field. It happens that it was a joint Sports Day with the primary and secondary Kuen Cheng schools. But after all the speeches and singing of national anthem and schools song, they all broke off to small groups for the own events in the stadium. Phew! For a moment I was thinking… “Oh no.. How long is this gonna take with so many students!!” (panic lah!)

Aiden’s event was the second one. So we didn’t have to wait very long. I cannot imagine if the kids all had to wait too long for their turn in the heat. Before they go crazy, I think the teachers will go mad having to keep them all in line and under control… :-P

In Aiden’s race, they were all divided into 2 groups, girls on side and the boys on the opposite. They had to run to the middle and exchange the flags (there were hoops in the middle as markers), then the last pair will have to change their flags and run to the finish line together. Aiden was the last pair. The whole thing was a blur… Partly because I was very busy crouching on the side, ready to snap the moment when he changes the flag with his partner and running to the finish line.. :-|  (so typical kan..) Well, Aiden’s team didn’t win :-( Most of the kids was not so sure what to do and some even dropped the flags… But Aiden and his partner was actually very good. They were both very sure of what to do and changed their flags very quickly but too bad it wasn’t good enough for them to win the first place. Aiden is actually quite disappointed… We had to console him after the race. But I don’t think it really did much for him. He was SO set on winning… Sigh!

After his event, to my surprise (and relief) they were given their box of Milo and bun and we can take them home already! Yeah!! :-D It was a VERY HOT morning ok. Any longer I might pengsan already!
