Yesterday was Jazz’s birthday… She turned 5 years old. I had the honors to make the birthday cake cake for this very special princess. Weeks ago, I sat with her at Starbucks pouring through pictures of what she might like for a birthday cake… I must say she is fickle!! her favorite changes by the minute! From ballet slippers to butterflies and different poses of Ariel (her favorite Disney Princess) We finally settled for a standing doll cake…all PINK (OFCOURSE!!)

I’ve never made a standing dolly cake before… But I was feeling rather brave to try. Mommy Kit was there to help me as well.. She read all the instructions and bought the pan and everything… So we were ready! And we even made matching cupcakes too!

So here is the cake. I wouldn’t exactly call it perfect ( not by my standards) as I think it can be better!! But it’s not bad for a first attempt, I must say… So now, anyone who wants a standing dolly cake for their Princesses… Bring it on!!

This week has been a normal yet hectic week altogether… How’s that? I really don’t know. Feels like I don’t have enough time in a day to do all my stuff. It is also the Earth Hour week, we celebrated ours at home with Koolio and Aileen. I cooked paella and pan fried salmon with white sauce and dill and we have a rather ‘warm’ candlelit dinner together. Then we enjoyed some drinks and chit chat on our balcony. Caitlyn enjoyed the whole thing, singing Happy Birthday and wishing everyone because there were candles every where. :-| Aiden didn’t spend Earth Hour with us. :-( He wanted to stay at his Yeh-Yeh and Ma Ma’s (Greg’s parents) But they also did the whole works… So in a way, he didn’t miss anything.

I’m still trying to figure out how did the week pass so fast!! I guess I have so much stuff to handle, that’s all..
