This week we celebrated Charles’s birthday. We had the most amazing pastries by Kum Moh (Greg’s aunt) She makes the most yummiest pastries. It was kinda like a pot luck thingy so I made Mee Siam. I was not going to bake anything as I certainly did not want to be put up against pros like my MIL, Kum Moh,Yam and Shoba alike… So, I thought I’ll keep it safe but yet attempt to ‘wow’ they crowd a little bit. ;-)

Then it was time for Albert (Cait’s Godpa) to finally board the plane and leave us for NZ for good. It was a rather sad moment for us but also very happy that he gets to finally be with his wifey, Adeline (aka Classy Adel) It was the right thing to do.. Like what he said, “A man has got to do what a man has got to do!” That was his parting words… It was also Isabelle’s first time out that day. Albert should be quite honored. She look cuter every time I see her!

Other then that everything is pretty normal, it was a rather normal week. Next week school holidays starts and we have a holiday in store. We are finally going to Rawa and my parents are going too.

Finally I have the time to edit and upload the 2042 photos from the trip! Yes! It’s A LOT of photos!! What to do there was 3 photographers and one with a video camera… :-| Aiden and Caitlyn looked like some superstar kids with the paparazzi constantly following them around.

We’ve been wanting to take them to Rawa since last year but due to the monsoon season we couldn’t. So since last week was the school holidays and the monsoon is over (or so we thought!) we booked our trip to Rawa as per promised to Aiden. Greg didn’t get to come along with us, he had some skill test on those days we were suppose to go.

We left early Monday morning at about 7am. Arrived there at about 11am or so… Both Aiden and Caitlyn slept almost all the way there, and I was worried that they will go crazy in the car!! It’s a long time to be in the car for the both of them. But this is not the first time they’ve been on a long distance trip.

When we arrive it the weather was ok, everyone was all excited to have finally arrived in Mersing. But our boat was SO late, we actually waited till about 5pm to finally get on the boat!! :-| I was So not impressed! the last time I was there with the girls the same thing happened but not till 3 hours! And as if that’s not bad enough it started pissing rain!! When it was finally time to go, it was still raining and the sea was kinda choppy. Mommy was scared and so was the maid… but, not the kids! :-D I was worried they would be scared but no.. they had a ball on the boat. Each time the boat crashed into the waves Caitlyn would scream with excitement!! Sigh! She is such a tomboy sometimes :-| When we arrived at Le Club it was almost dark already, we were soaked with rain and sea water and it was cold… and we have no hot water. I was worried for the kids. but they were too tired to notice anything. Caitlyn fell asleep on me while we were on the hammock. So that was pretty much our first day, it did stop raining after awhile and the kids ran out to play for a bit then we had dinner and crashed very early. I know I was very tired from waking up at 6am!

Day 2

Our prayers were answered!! It was all sunshine the 2nd day. Well, it started out a bit gloomy in the morning but it was hot and sunny for the rest of the day. I got sun burned to prove! :-( Caitlyn was very happy to see the beach (our room opens out straight to the beach) She woke me up and said,”Wook at dat!!” and she wanted to go out already! Aiden really is a beach bum. He stayed out on the beach the whole day. Caitlyn loves the waves too but she is also quite a little missy… She wouldn’t want to step into the sand at first! She kept screaming “Wek! Wek!” (wet) pointing at her feet to her grandfather so that he would carry her to play on the beach! :-| How’s that! But she soon warmed up and was running around too until she got hurt and was back on the hammock with her grandma. So she spent the most of her day under the porch, on the hammock of our little ‘hut’. Only later in the evening Po Po (grandma)took her  to feed the fishes under the jetty she was laughing again. I think that was the highlight of the trip for her. that night after dinner, we sat on the beach under a blanket of stars… Caitlyn was singing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars’. It was just SO beautiful, that is until my Mom came to highjacked them into the room to watch Kung Fu Panda.. :-| So  my Dad and I went to the jetty to watch people fish and enjoy the night breeze.

Day 3

We are leaving today already. I wish I could stay another day.. I think 3D2N is too short, well.. this time it’s shorter because we arrived at the island only in the evening on the first day.. So didn’t waste anytime that morning, after breakfast, it was straight to the jetty to feed the fishes their breakfast. One of the advantages of bringing the maid along is that I don’t have to worry about packing.. :-D So I had some time to catch one last dip and sunshine with the kids. Oh! and we collected some seashells too. That was fun. Our boat came at about 2pm and we were on our way back to Mersing already.

I think the kids, Dad and my maid really enjoyed the holiday except for my Mom.. :-P She didn’t enjoyed the sand all over the place and the place we stayed in had no hot shower and air-conditioning. It’s really back to basic and being close to nature. Le Club is not your 5 star hotel… well, it’s not even 3 star. What I’ll say to people when they ask me is.. it’s like camping but much more comfortable. There a toilet, shower, a bed and fan. LOL! I don’t think my Mom is going back there again. Or maybe she can stay at the next resort. But I asked Aiden, he loves it and he wants to go back with his Daddy.
