12 more days till Christmas… I have been busy, busy, busy… with no maid and all. So I have not accomplished much in terms of preparing for Christmas!! Not as much as I would like to. I didn’t bake any cookies or decorated much (thinking that I’ll have to take them out all by myself!) If I had my way I don’t think I would have put up the Christmas tree but I have 2 kids and it wouldn’t be right. So at least the tree is up! :-D But I have not done any shopping at all… I do have something… I can’t say what right now as it will spoil the surprise then.

We usually congregate at my MIL’s house on Christmas Day to stuff our faces and open presents but this year she has declared that she won’t be having anything as she just cannot cope with all the cooking and all… (sigh) I thought we’ll go out for dinner but everywhere is SO expensive and I thought it wouldn’t be as fun as having it at home. We can sit around and relax with everyone and not have to join in the mad rush in a restaurant. So, I finally gave up and yes… We’ll have the party here in our home. It’s more Christmas-sy (did I just make up that word?!). We’ll have a ‘organize’ pot luck kinda thing. We’ll plan it properly so that it’s not too much and to make sure that the food compliments each other. ;-) So that’s for the family side.

For the friends side, I’m still thinking… should I have it or not? I’m just really scared of the cleaning up part actually… I don’t know, I’m still thinking…

I won’t be posting up much as I’m (like I said) really busy. Although it is easier then when my first maid left but it’s still killing me slowly… It’s gonna be another at least 3 weeks till she comes back. So I’m still hanging on but I don’t know for how long… :-(

Did you know that Aiden is the BIGGEST Amazing Race fan? Well, he is. I don’t know, he never used to like it before, but this Season 3 of TARA (The Amazing Race Asia) he has been following it since the very first leg. Maybe because his very own Aunt Bernie and Uncle Henry is in it. He will watch it every Thursday and he’ll be rooting for the both of them, cheering them on. There were 2 weeks that they came in first and he was over the moon, he’ll tell everyone he meets! And when they didn’t or something didn’t go their way he’ll get just as upset.

Actually I didn’t really realize how serious he was about the race until one episode when the racers were in Hue, Vietnam. In that leg Bernie got thrown out of the rickshaw that Henry was trying very hard to control… He turned to ask me,

Oh NO!! Is Aunty Bernie ok?

When I turned to look at him, he most almost close to tears… poor boy, he wanted to call her to check if she is ok. He must have thought that the race was live, little did he know that Aunty Bernie is already safe and sound back at home..

And then a few weeks later at my MIL’s house I found out that he even mimics Alan Wu (the host) very well! He’ll stand in front of a door mat and makes us ‘jump’ on it and he’ll announce our position (just like the racers do in the race) ala Alan Wu style… :-|   Very real…

So one night when we had the little gathering at my MIL’s house, Bernie and Henry came too. It’s the first time he is actually seeing them after the race. Oh, by the way… he doesn’t know that they were eliminated then coz for some reason (I forgot) he didn’t watch that leg. So anyway… he was SO, SO excited to see his favorite team. He didn’t want to leave Bernie’s side, Henry was late. So he kept asking for him.. :-P And when he finally arrived he got to do his little Alan Wu impersonate with his two favorite racers! That really made his day!!

This is the first time Aiden is seeing his Aunt Bernie and Uncle Henry since they have came back from The Amazing Race Asia… he was so star strucked! Aiden is the BIGGEST fan of the race, I think because his very own Aunt and Uncle is in it. Every week he’ll watch the race on tv and he will be looking out for the both of them, cheering them on… And he’ll even get very upset whenever something didn’t go their way or something bad happens to them. There was 2 weeks consecutively Bernie and Henry was in 1st place, Aiden was so happy he was telling everyone he meets! He even impersonates Alan Wu (the host) when the teams checks in at the end of every leg… He’ll stand infront of a door mat and makes his sister and any one of us to jump on the mat pretending to be Bernie and Henry and he’ll announce our position for that leg…That night he got to do it with his real Amazing Racers …He was absolutely thrilled! Thanks Bernie and Henry, you really made his day.
