My Turn

This year it’s Caitlyn’s turn to put up the star on out Christmas tree. Last year was Aiden, Caitlyn was too little to do it anyway… So Daddy has made it as our family tradition to take turns to put up the star. Of course Aiden was not too happy about not having the honors this year but he soon relented after much persuasion and explaining.

Caitlyn was very excited about the whole thing, although I don’t think she really knows what it all about. She still couldn’t manage after Daddy carried her up to the tree many times… so in the end after she has some what stuck it on the tree, he helped her secured it on while she looks on happily. I’m sure when it’s her turn again, she’ll be able to do a better job. ;-)

3 days till Christmas and I think I’m almost half way ready. I’ve wrapped most of my goodies, planned my menu for dinner and tea party, wrapped and bought most of the presents… Those that I’m making is almost done. Tomorrow Greg will be off and we’ll be doing more shopping and preparation. So I can say that I’m almost ready…

I guess I can say that I’m finally starting to feel a little bit more relaxed and excited about Christmas now. Not having maid around is really throwing me a little off with time and organizing… :-( As you can see, I even post a lot less now. I actually have a few post dates to do, and by the time when I actually have time to do it, I’ll probable have forgotten.

Speaking of the maid, I was hoping that she’ll be back Christmas, but I think by the looks of it, I really don’t think so. But that’s ok, I have actually mentally prepared myself already. Greg will just have to help me out… :-|

Dear Santa

Last year Aiden wrote his very first letter/wishlist to Santa. This year he remembered and ask to write to Santa again… So I made decorated a A4 paper (with all my digi scrapping stash) for him to write his wish list. When I asked him what will be on his list he names a few things, a BIG red car- Audi, a puppy and a laptop that he use to own but was murdered over the last years (by him).
As I was so busy, I didn’t make him the ‘nice’ paper till a few days later then only he got to write his list with Daddy (aka Santa himself). By then he has forgotten what he told me and only put down the BIG red car. ;-)
So that is his list. He put it in an envelope and placed it on our Christmas tree for Santa. The next morning, he burst into my room very, very early in the morning in a fit! Santa didn’t pick up his letter! He was VERY upset.
So I had a word with ‘Santa’ when he got home from work that day. Happens that he was unsure if he should pick up the letter or not and because he was rushing off to work in the ungodly hours, he forgot. So we had to come up with some story as to why Santa didn’t pick up the letter….
I can tell you that only Greg would come up with stories like that…
I don’t remember how he started it but it went like this..
Because Aiden  didn’t know how to spell Claus, we spelled it out for him and we spelled it as Clause.
Daddy: Aiden, maybe we spelled Santa’s name wrongly. Let’s check!
After checking..
Daddy: Oh no!! No wonder Santa didn’t pick up the letter. It’s not his name!! Aiya!! Silly Daddy…
Aiden: Oh no!
Daddy: Let’s change it quick! Then he’ll know it’s for him.
So it’s like that.. And all is well, the letter ‘disappeared’ from the tree the next morning. Aiden, burst into my room again the following morning and screamed, “It’s gone! It’s gone!! Mommy the letter is gone. Santa took his letter ha… We got it right this time!”
So Mommies and Daddies… the correct spelling for good ol’ Saint Nick is C-L-A-U-S.
