I guess I should have written this before I went off to Cameron Highlands on Monday after Aiden’s exam…but I was really, really pressing for time! We only decided to go to Cameron on Sunday night and confirmed going on Monday late morning. :-D I know, It’s all very last minute but we have a very good reason. AhYee and Uncle Jim is visiting from Macao and they thought it would be nice to go, and so happen Greg had 4 days off from Monday on…So go lah!! It was a really good trip and we all were so glad that we went. I’ll write about that later.. Plus we took a lot of cool photos!

Back to Aiden… So, he took the exam and his Master said that he did well. Daddy was there with him (while I shot off to handle the last minute things before we lave for Cameron) Daddy said that he messed up a little but it’ll be ok. Aiden was SO disappointed when he found out that he’ll only get his result and belt in 2 weeks time. :-( But we assured him that he did well and cooked up some story on why it takes 2 weeks to get his belt. Sigh!! One of the things about being parents is you become such great story tellers or liar…it’s really a fine line between both. :-(

So after that we all trooped home and gather our stuff and picked up Ah Yee and Uncle Jim and left for Cameron. By the time we were actually on the highway, it was already about 5 something pm. And we arrived at Laurence’s place at about 10 something pm!! Phew!! I was ready to pass out by then!

This month I seem to have been bitten by the travel bug. Not that I’m complaining… But when I don’t go anywhere, I really don’t get to go anywhere. Even if I have planned it for months…I still don’t get to go. When I don’t plan anything… it all just happens!! When it rains…it pours! Yeah!! :-D First it’s this Cameron trip, which was really, really spontaneous. Then Greg and I have been invited by ‘the gurls’ to Rawa Island for a gataway (very, very excited!!) The last time we went for a trip with ‘the gurls’ was  to Redang Island and that was like 2 years ago! Then right after that I’m off to (guess where..) Cameron again, this time with my parents and SamYee’s ( Aunty, Mom’s youngest sister) family and probably with my grandparents too. Thats gonna be a party! This has been planned 2 weeks ago for the kid’s school holidays. And on top of all the travelling, I have the Assunta Alumni Golden Jubilee Dinner to go to this Saturday. Phew!! It’s gonna be a really, really busy month for me.

Aiden will be taking his yellow belt exam today!! He is VERY excited about it and he has been training really hard for it. Infact…I don’t think I’ve ever seen him work so hard for something before. ;-) Makes my heart swell with pride (sob! sob!)

Just about more then 1 and a half weeks ago he was deemed unfit to take the exam and was refer to take the next exam which was going to be in a few months time. That’s NOT going to go well with him at all..No,no.. not my son! He hates to be left out or be the last or anything like that. Especially not after he has made such a big commitment and decided to continue with the class, not being able to move forward with the class will break him…

You see, what happened was… For the past 3 to 4 lessons prior to these 2 weeks he has not been joining the class. His Master told me that he was just sitting by the side of the class, playing and sometime even crying. So he missed all those lessons and was really left behind. So we spoke to him about him not participating in the class, and if he wanted to stop then he’ll need to complete the first term and then decide again. I wanted him to learn to follow through… and not start something, then stop half way when the going gets tough.

But that chat didn’t work and my FIL found him sitting by the side of the class again one week when he was there to pick him up. So we had another chat with Aiden. And this time is was around if he wanted to continue with the class or not, because the term was almost over by  then. After some thought, surprisingly he said YES!! He wanted to continue! And we asked him many times over the weekend. We thought that why he said yes was because of Greg… So Daddy spoke to him that it’s ok to stop if he didn’t like it and that he didn’t need to continue just to please him. But Aiden still said yes.. and that he wanted to get his yellow belt. So, I guess that’s what snapped!! He wanted to move up. Why didn’t I think of that?? My son cannot loose wan!! So he went for the next class fully participated in the class. His Master was very surprised and ask us what happened? :-) After talking to the Master he said that Aiden was still not ready for exam… and I thought “Uh-oh… That’s not good.” Especially not after all the talk and and all… So we asked the Master when is the next exam (Which is another 10 weeks! It’s too long to wait!) So the other option is to put him on a crash course and train him very hard for a week. Aiden agreed… So that’s that! And he has been training very hard, Daddy has been helping him at home and Mommy has been sending him to extra classes all week. And now he is ready. So we’ll see. Updates later… Keep our fingers crossed. Please say a little prayer for Aiden. :-)

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of horror stories of car jacking and house break-ins. It really worries me. I know it’s been happening in our community but it’s just that lately it’s occurring to people closer to me (too close for comfort, you know what I mean?)

Just yesterday I called fellow blogger, Mommy q-pc, just to catch up with her as I have not been bumping into her in Bangsar Village as we always do. Infact, I have not seen her since Singapore, I think! So, I called to say hello, only to hear that her house was broken in last Friday! She lost most of her stuff and 10 handbags!!! :-( If that ever happened (touch wood! touch wood!! cross fingers) I’ll cry my eyes out for sure!! I felt SO sorry for her and I really can’t tell her “I know how you feel…” bit coz I can NEVER imagine it. I’ll be so devastated…

So back to this topic of is condo better (in this case safer) then a landed property? Almost all of the people whom we know who lives in a landed property has had been victims or has a neighbour who are victims of break-ins. :-( That says a lot doesn’t it?

Not that Greg and I buying just yet… but we have been looking… Greg wants to get a landed property but I’m all in for a condo. I don’t know… I’ve lived in a condo or some sort all my life. It just ‘feels’ better and in this case… safer. I just can’t stand being wedged in between two houses other houses in the case of terrence homes. I’ll surely have to get a corner lot where I get lots of windows. The only thing that makes me really want to get a landed is that I’ll be able to have a dog. The kids love dogs and so do I. At the moment we just can’t have a dog… We have no room for a doggie…(hell) we hardly have enough space for ourselves now let alone a dog. Now that Aiden is almost 5 and Caitlyn is quickly growing up, we could do with more space.

Well.. I don’t know. As always…we’ll just leave it up to THE ONE above. We’ll just know it when the time is right. Just like how we got our first home. ;-)
