Make time to PLAY

I’ve been meaning to learn how to do this color blocking technique for the longest time. I know I have the Photoshop book lying around somewhere but I just can’t find it and plus honestly… I’m kinda lazy to find it.

But just the other day I was surfing the scrapbooking galleries and I saw this Lo that was simply amazing and chanced upon the website that has the coolest tutorials. Do visit her blog TaylorMade Designs. Her name is Amanda Taylor. I love her LOs too, very different from what I usually see in the galleries. Her LOs are very focused on the photo, minimal elements if at all and she loves to play around with her shots too. Very interesting! ;-) You might just pick up a thing or two from her.I know I did… this is what I’ve learnt… Color blocking. It’s actually quite easy to do. Do you like it?

Aiden and Greg was having dinner together at the dinner table while I was busy catching on my scrapping… They were happily chatting to each other over dinner and this was part of their conversation…

Aiden: Daddy, you don’t go to work and have dinner at home K?

Daddy: If I don’t go to work…we will not have dinner to eat.

Aiden: ???

Daddy: If Daddy don’t go to work we will have no money to buy food. Where we gonna get money?

Aiden: (Without missing a beat) From GOD lah!!

Daddy: From God….. :-(

Mommy: Bahh Hahahahaha :-D

Well… In a way, he IS right. All things come from God, even money!! Now… I hope tonight he prays for more money… ;-)

I have been meaning to post this update on Caitlyn weeks ago!! As of now Caitlyn is about 16 months and 2 weeks old. :-D But anyway, here goes.

Like I said I’ve been meaning to post this for weeks already but I have been waiting for this and that… waiting to make a LO which includes all her milestones and updates. But never got to it. So yesterday I finally put my foot down or rather my butt down and DO IT!!

Sitting here, writing this post I can’t believe it’s been 16 months since our little Caitlyn joined our crazy family. How time flies!! Suddenly she seems like a big girl now. It feel like last week she was a baby and now she is a toddler. Where did the time in between go?

Suddenly now she no longer needs me to:

  • give her night feeds and the morning 6am feed (groan) I really don’t know how I manage to get the milk just right? :-(
  • carry her everywhere. (She is not the lightest or the smallest baby OK!!)
  • burp her. (she sometimes tries to burp me now!)
  • make all her pureed baby food.( She wants to eat what we eat!)

Caitlyn’s milestone at 16 months:

  • Weights 12kgs.
  • About 89cms tall.
  • 7 and a quarter teeth. (I think one of the molars are on the way too, but she refuse to let me see!! That explains her moodiness sometimes) :-(
  • Runs and walks steadily on her own.
  • Able to climb the stairs on all fours.
  • Feeds herself fruits and food that we cut into cubes or small pieces for her.
  • Able to sing and hum to the songs, especially when we are in the car and Aiden is listening to all his favorite songs. Lately she can pronounce quite a few words to songs like ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’,'Row Row Row Your Boat’ and ‘Old McDonald’.
  • Dances as well as she sings! Very showgirl ;-)
  • New word… ‘NO’ for added drama and effect, she’ll shake her head and pout :-( ( Who am I kidding? Of course  this day will come when she’ll learn this word)
  • Loves make up. She’ll play with my old blusher and empty compact powder case whenever I’m doing my make-up. And she’ll end up looking like a Chinese opera singer.
  • Loves to try on adult shoes. She’ll pull shoes off the rack and try them on when we are out shopping…hmm.. I wonder where she learnt that from? :-D
