Steamboat

Last Saturday we were summoned to our in-laws, ‘The Voos’ for another ‘makan’ session. The Voos are famous for their steamboats dinners. I don’t know if it’s the food or the company…but I think it’s the combination of both, because I know for sure with this gang, good food is of utmost importance! Those who are privilege enough to feast at any of these steamboat parties, is sure to leave the front door slithering out like a snake or you’ll feel nothing less of an over stuffed sausage. I bet you won’t want to see another fish or pork ball again for some time. It’s just SO yummy, you’ll be eating and eating non stop. AND… you won’t stop because the food is just there and you’ll be compelled to pop another fish ball into your mouth while your friends will be cheering each other on (or trying to out do each other, I don’t know which!!) You can never tell with this group… The way we show affection and appreciation with each other always comes out as a sarcastic remark or some sort, that’s why we have few friends.. Hehehehe ;-)

When we were finally done with steamboat, I was feeling SO like that sausage that I was telling you about, I though that’s it… but NO!!! Somebody suggested to have durians!! (I think it was Mrs Voo aka Mama Newbie) Another weakness of mine… :-( I LOVE durians. I can have durians everyday,if it doesn’t kill me already by the third day. So the boys went out to buy the durians. I was already SO stuffed at this point so I was pretty upset…I won’t be able to eat a lot lah!!! :-(

Also…it was Ethan’s birthday the day before….and I forgot!! Sigh!!And to make matters worst, I gave him a bar of soap in a shape of an elephant (NOT intended to be his Birthday gift but because I saw it and thought it was very cute and we were seeing him that evening) Now my John and Pat must be thinking “What lah these ‘chan ka’ very ‘kiam siap’ wan…” :-(  I’m So sorry baby Ethan. Aunty Elaine will make up for it ok! ;-)
