I was going through the photos from Caitlyn’s party, and I cannot stop laughing when I saw this one. I had nearly forgotten that it had happened till I saw this photo of a half bitten candle on Caitlyn’s birthday cake! I guess the candle does look a lot like lollies… I was actually quite angry when I saw one of the candles in a different position from where I had arranged it (ya..ya..I know. Anal rite!) But my anger turned into panic when I saw that there was little bite marks on it! Means some little person had eaten the candle! I don’t know what will happen if you had accidentally ate some wax…I’m the kinky sort… Then somebody told me that they saw Kashish (Kogee’s son) hanging around the cake and might have just decided to take a bite. Sigh! Boys will be boys. So I told Kogee but she said that it was impossible as he wasn’t really good at biting things… So the incident was quickly forgotten and I hope some kid won’t get poisoning from wax after attending Caitlyn’s party. That would be memorable (not the kind that I’m looking for though)But after the is well over and done with, I got a sms from Kogee thanking me for the party and she told me that it was Kashish who bit it. She only found out that it was him after they had arrived home and she found bits of the candle in the piece of tissue that he spat into. Thank goodness he didn’t swallow it! Can you digest wax? But I thought it was really funny! Sigh! Boys!

So finally it’s over. After weeks of planning and preparations, I must say that it turned out well *phew!* I wanted to write this post last night but I was really just too tired as we also attended a wedding dinner after that and only came home at about 11pm.Now that all the glitter and wrapping paper has been swept away, I finally have the time to write this post. All went according to plan but of course in my life nothing will ever be ordinary…some drama must follow even if I planned it to the last minute detail ( which I did) This time, it was Aiden. Well, it wasn’t his fault really…he is a victim (poor fellow) You’ll read about it in my next post. Aunty Bernie and Aunty Cerena also didn’t make it at the very last minute as they fell ill. Grandma (Greg’s mom) also could make as she couldn’t get time off from her class. So the party…All of Caitlyn’s favorite people and those who loves here was there. That alone marked the occasion for me. We had in The Apartment at The Curve. Thanks to Uncle Kenny who happens to be the manager there made everything perfect and saved me a lot of stress from planning the menu. I didn’t have to worry or check on anything all was left to him. I wouldn’t say that the place looked anything like a a child’s 1 year old party, in fact it looked more like a hen night with the dark walls and pink balloons. ( like a Victoria’s Secret party) and Kylie was about to jump out to do a number or something. We even had sexy jazzy music! Very classy actually… I liike *wink* As it was a tea party we had finger food like scones and canapes, peanut butter and banana crepes…Big Apple doughnuts, courtesy of Uncle Paul *thanks* That was a hit with everyone. Godma (Elaine Daly) can’t stop stuffing her face!! And who said that models don’t eat!!The birthday cake was from Piece of Cake baked by Lilian. I’ll recommend it to anyone, not only was it a lovely cake it tastes good too. I was very happy with the cake and so was Caitlyn. She squealed with delight when she saw the cake and the balloons when she arrived. That was priceless for me. All the hard work of planning and running about paid off to get my Princess’s approval. She really had a blast that day…being the enter of attention, kissed and carried by everyone. Of course, her two favorite men in the world,(besides Daddy la..) Uncle Paul and my Path Finder friend, Jeff showered her with lots of love too… Cuddles from her lovely (soon to be married) Godma, Elaine Daly. Everytime I write about her, I must include her full name (which feels really weird) or people will get confused with me. I sometimes get sms meant for her sent to me (!?)The only biggest regret that I have was that Daddy and Tai Kor (big brother) Aiden was only able to show up at the very last moment of the party. And even that also, we held up our guest for the cake cutting to wait for them to come from the hospital. I feel so sad that Daddy and Aiden missed her first birthday party. And they were both so excited about it.Well… the treat boxes? Oh yeah… everyone loved it (yeah!!) All hard work paid off…no more painful fingers! (hehehe) Will I do it again? I don’t know…it’s just so much work and patience. What kept me going was the thought of making it perfect and memorable for Caitlyn and our guest. Some people even ask me if I’m selling it or thought about doing as a business…*phew!) It’s just so much work, how much would I charge? And I think 45 pcs is as much as I can handle! But like I said…I don’t know. We’ll see. *wink*And another thing that I realized after the party was that I don’t really have nice shots of the day. Well…after looking at the ones that my brother took is quite disappointing…not what I expected. Sigh! That’s another thing about being a host, you can’t really go round with your camera and entertain your guest at the same time. I’ve learn this lesson one too many times but still stupid enough to repeat it. I’ve actually asked a few people to help me but the two reliable ones couldn’t make it and that’s left my youngest brother who is actually a photographer (yes…he does it for a living) but not the most reliable person to do the job especially for family.. (how’s that?) But I did notice my fellow blogger Jazzmint who happens to has great eye for catching special moments (check out her blog…lovely!!) was kind enough to bring her camera and was clicking away that day… Hmmm… looks like I’ll be buying her lunch/dinner soon. Hehehehe! So, please wait up for the photos. web

Happy Birthday Caitlyn!! Today is Caitlyn’s birthday. 1 year ago this time(on the 28th), I was still lying in the damn birthing room in Pantai Hospital breaking my back! (Hey! I swear to you those ‘beds’ are not at all comfortable, ask any mother they’ll tell you that)  At this time I was still counting my contractions which was fading away with each passing hour and any hope of giving birth that night. I knew it just wasn’t happening. The doctor told me to get some rest and save my energy for tomorrow, but how can I? I’ve been waiting since 6pm! At that point I was just so disappointed and discouraged already. So anyway, the next morning, we decided to ‘help’ the situation a little bit. The doctor pricked my water bag and put me on the drip to speed things up. The rest of the morning was a blur…drugs and all…and it was PAIN all the way!! Like I said, whatever that I didn’t go through when I had Aiden (he was a breeze, he really loves his mommy) I paid it back 100 times with Caitlyn. Princess through and through…she really knows how to give it to mommy. DRAMA all the way!

I can’t believe how fast 1 year has passed. Even as I’m sending out the invitations everyone cannot believe it’s been a year already. They felt like it was just a few months ago that they came for her full moon party. But believe it or not our little girl is one years old today and cute as a button!

Just a couple of days ago that she is starting to stand unassisted and when she does, she’ll clap her hands for approval and for you to say “Clever Girl!!!” Actually, I was hoping that she will kinda start walking by by her birthday. Who knows…she might just surprise us tomorrow at the party. Daddy says that she’s standing due to pressure from me. (!) Like he is not excited about it! (Duh!) From the moment she was born she has had her daddy wrapped around her little finger like a knot!

Caitlyn is so different from Aiden when he was 1. Maybe it’s because she has the brother to learn from..while Aiden was just constantly surrounded by adults ( very serious) At 1 years old she can do so many things, learns fast (especially all the tricks), has a temper like mommy, a 100% princess, knows how and who’s buttons to push… She is such a cutie.

I’ve bought a little pink dress for her to wear tomorrow. I hope she’ll enjoy the party. I’ve invited all the people that she loves and loves her. This day is for her.
