img_3832.jpgToday I’ve put up the Christmas tree. This year as planned from last year…the colour scheme is silver and PINK !! Suprise! Surprise! *ha!ha!* Hey! Give me a break ok.. I’ve waited one year to do my theme ya… Last year I did silver and ice blue..(quite cool) Anyway it’s just fabulous!! I’m going to add more feathers to it.*kek kek*

I was just talking to Greg…what are our plans for Christmas this year… We will definately have something as it’s always a party at The Tan Residence. Christmas or not… Infact, we’ll probable be having more then one or even two sessions…for the boys and WOSS, our Asiaworks friends and of course family.

So we are back from our holiday, or rather what I’ll like to call it our amazing race across 3 countries… (Coz it feels like it) Greg and I finally decided to just do it (taking the whole family for our first overseas trip) Like I mentioned in my previous blog, we will be taking Aiden to Disneyland. So we took a flight to Macau and met up with Ah Yee KK and Uncle Jim (as promised also *wink*)Then a boat to Hong Kong Disneyland and our impromptu visit to China, Zuhai. It’s not the first time we are travelling, but just the thought of taking the two kids on flight, boat, train and to Disneyland is scary. I actually thought of not taking Caitlyn along two days before the trip. All sorts of what ifs and questions pop into my head. The biggest question was will it be too stressful for the her since she is only about 8 months old. But I thought it’ll be really unfair to take one and not the other. Plus Caitlyn is pretty attached to me and being away from her for 5 whole days will be even more stressful for her and prob for me too…I’ll miss her:( What appeased me was that we will be staying in Ah Yee’s house. So it can’t be that bad and I’ll have Ah Yee (God Bless her) if anything at all…If we had to stay in a hotel for the whole of our journey,I would have turned back!

So, any mommies out there thinking of whether to bring little bubs on trips like this.. Well..my advice is you can but don’t expect or plan to have too many activities..you’ll be moving really slow (stopping for toilets/feeds/tired lil’ feet/grumbling stomach…etc) And if you are going with the kids.. it’s basically a holiday for them not you. Meaning, you’ll be doing all the kiddie stuff so don’t look forward to go shopping for a long time(they will be whinny due to boredom) no checking out the local bars/pub/clubs (no one to babysit) no travelling light (you’ll have to bring half the house)… But it’s not like you won’t have fun, but you’ll be doing the things that the kiddies will enjoy. And that’s what really matters anyway. Seeing the smiles on their faces makes it all worth it! And just having that time alone with the family having fun is also worth it. I’ll do it again, this time round I’m wiser and clued in.. so it’ll be easier and I can be more relax to enjoy. Well….mommies are still learning and experimenting all the time right?

We left for Hong Kong on Wednesday. Had ‘Ju-pa Bao’ (pork-chop burger) before we left for the ferry. It absolutely a must try when you are in Macao.*check my food blog*The journey to Hong Kong was an adventure in itself! Greg and I felt like we were on The Amazing Race All the getting on and off the ferry, going to Immigration and travelling on the MTR is no joke. And we did this all the two kids,2 prams, 1 check-in case and baby bags. By the time we were finally in Disneyland, Greg and I were so ready to pass out! When we checked-in at was about 5pm. Thought we will get into the park to scout the place and grab some dinner so that Aiden can get a preview of the park, since the package that we bought (Hong Kong Disneyland Stay and Play Package) includes free entrance for the following day when you buy the first day ticket and staying for two nights. To our dismay we found out that the park closes at 8pm and only opens at 10am. So it’s really no point going in that day and we are checking out the day after already(check out time is at 11am). Which means we’ll only have time for 1 day in the park. We were quite disappointed and there was nothing much we could do then as we already bought out ferry tickets back to Macao. I think their timing is a bit weird.Check-in time – 3pm onwardsCheck-out time – 11am (anything more they’ll charge accordingly)Park opens- 10am Park closes- 8pmSo anyone of you out there thinking about going, make plans accordingly to save you any inconvenience. So in the end we had dinner in the hotel (we were at the Hollywood Hotel), walked around the hotel and went back to our room. The room is okay, we asked for double beds, so there were plenty of room. Caitlyn had a baby cot for herself,so that’s cool too.Aiden was delighted to find the TV programs had all his favorite Disney Playhouse in 4 different languages! We were very amused by the Banana in Pajamas dubbed in Cantonese…very cute. We had an early night… charging up for tomorrow. The next day we got up bright and early. Even Caitlyn was all charged up! We had breakfast on Mainstreet in Disney. The pancakes and waffles were all in Mickey and Minnie’s shapes. First stop was Tomorrowland. The ques weren’t too bad that day. *phew* Greg and I took turns to take Aiden for the rides. He even went for the Space Mountain rollercoaster ride! (his first) Well…he will surely remember his Disney trip now. I was so worried..he only just made it above the line..like 2mm! (Aiden is taller then most kids his age) Even the attendant had to measure him twice to make sure. I went for the ride before in other Disneys..it’s quite scary ok. When I asked the attendant if it’ll be ok for him,if there were any loopy-loops? She answered me casually “Oh, no, but there’s a part that charges down from 6 stories high.” Ah.. too late, Aiden and Greg was already inside. I was worried for both of them now…Greg is not too good with rollercoasters as well. Ha! Ha! True enough, when thay came out Aiden’s face was quite pale and Greg was feeling sick. :P

So no more rides with ! on it from then on. The rest of the park was ok. Aiden really enjoyed himself that day. Even Caitlyn went for some of the rides too. Both of them were sooo tired, around 6pm, both of them were sleeping in their prams already. Aiden slept through the parade and we were parked next to the loudspeaker! Guess he must be really tired. Because it’s already Christmas theme when we were there the Sleeping Beauty’s Castle was lighted up with fairy lights. It’s really gorgeous, and with the finale of the day, they had a fireworks show over the castle. Very, very nice :) Even mommy and daddy enjoyed it very much.

It’s was a perfect day indeed… Aiden thanked daddy for taking him to Disneyland… so cute. We all had fun.
