I never knew…

I never knew

Credits: Gabby by Shabby Princess

Not too long ago, a friend read my blog. And he asked me a very interesting question… How come I never scrap myself or write anything about me? He asked me why do I blog? I told him so that (hopefully) Aiden and Caitlyn would read it one day and I scrap to document about them. He said, “Wouldn’t you think that they’ll want to read about you and your thoughts too? It’s important that they ‘know’ you too.”

Hmm.. I never really thought about that. I never thought of it that way. I thought that by writing a blog they actually hear my thoughts. Well… then I went through my blog and yeah… I never scrap about myself. I never thought it was important. Then I tried to scrap a LO of myself and then I realized that it’s harder then I thought!! Ironically… I found the journalling part the hardest and I call myself a blogger! And I couldn’t really find a photo of myself to scrap. LOL!! :-D Until last night my friends had a gathering at Erica’s office and she has all this things all set up for a photo shoot (She owns an advertising company) and took the opportunity to take profile pictures for all of us. So, this photo is one of them (thanks Erica!) Now I have no excuse! :-(

Here is what’s written in the LO.

I never knew that Iíll be a Mom.

I never knew how to BE a Mom, actually I still donít I guess Iím still trying…

I never knew that I could love someone So much until I had kids.

I never knew that I could be quite a geek until I had my own laptop and started my blog.

I never knew that I can be quite patient.

I never knew that I can be quite a cook until I have my own family. Now even Mom and Dad comes over for dinner almost everyday.

I never knew that I can have my heart outside of my body…they run around and trash up the whole house everyday.

I never knew that I can ever be ok going out without my hair done and sans make-up until I became a Mom.

I never knew how much everything cost and how to bargain until I had to do the marketing myself.

I never knew that I can actually survive without without wearing high heels.

I never knew how to bake until I met my MIL.

I never knew that I can miss my parents until I got married.

I never knew how much I loved travelling until I stopped flying.

I never knew that I can actually have normal girlfriends who are not faghags (and get along with them) until I met  Pat, Hooi Min and Lii Chu. And they actually except me for who I am.

I never knew that I can be quite tolerant.

I never knew that I can be quite handy until I had my own place.

I never knew that I can sew until I learned how to quilt.

I guess I never knew that I never knew all these things until I actually did it and took a chance to learn it.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Yesterday was my MIL’s birthday. She turns 62!! We wanted to take her out for dinner but she didn’t want to go as she is down with the flu and fever. So after we had dinner we pop over to house number 2 (that’s what we call my in-law’s house in Old Town), gave her a present, bought a small cake so the kids could sing her a Happy Birthday song. Even Caitlyn sang Happy Birthday! I’m not really sure when or where she learnt it from but she has been able to ’sing’ it in her own little language for a while now…  I think that was the best gift for grandma.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

My little Water Baby

My Little Water Baby

Credits: Swim Fishy by Kristin Aagard at Plain Digital Wrapper

This is the LO I did using Kristin’s Swim Fishy kit. I’m just spoiled for choice with So many papers, and the colors are SO beautiful. And it’s not jut limited to just fishy photos, as you can see here I’ve used it for all the kids swimming photos.

Caitlyn  just loves the water, just like her brother. They are both water babies. Every time she sees me pull out her swimming suit, she’ll squeal with excitement. When she is in the water she wouldn’t allow me to hold her at all… :-( I’m scared… not her. She, on the other hand is so confident. Caitlyn would want to play with the other older children at the pool and she even chase them around sometimes…

Anniversary Tattoos

Yesterday Greg and I went to get our long overdue anniversary tattoos. Yes, we had this plan before our anniversary but only got down to it weeks later. And when we finally went to Borneo Ink to make our appointment, we had to wait for another month for a slot. Yes, Simon (our tattoo artist) is one busy fellow… And after our tattoos are done I can see why. He is really good at what he does and a great guy. When you decide to put a mark on your body permanently… you’ll want someone whom you can trust and who is no less then great at what he does. ;-)

So about the tattoo… initially Greg and I wanted to get matching ones to commemorate our 5th year anniversary. So I spent endless hours pouring through Google images and tattoo design site… I kinda wanted something with stars because both Aiden and Caitlyn’s first song is ‘Twinkle twinkle little star’. Greg suggested something like a Roman numeral 5 or any kind of variations to that… but I didn’t like that. It just didn’t like go ‘PING’ for me. He thought that the tattoo should be about ‘us’ and not so much focus on the kids, but to me the kids So the list goes on and on and many discussions (some pretty heated) about our tattoo design. Up till the day we were still bickering about it!! So in the end we settled for the star design with Aiden and Caitlyn’s portraits in it but we’ll see what they say and get some advise from the experts. Because both of us weren’t too keen on getting one that’ll end up too big, and I kinda knew that it’ll probably have to be rather big to get the details in the stars.

Sure enough, when we were there, it was exactly what happened. So decided to go to plan B. Not matching tattoo but something that’ll remind us of each other.

So on me I got a pair of headphones with wings. I’ve been toying with this idea for awhile now… But because initially it’s suppose to be matching tattoos so I shoved the idea as it was personal for me. For me it just represents Greg and the times we’ve been through together. Headphones is because of his DJ-ing days. That’s when we started dating and we had so much fun together and the wings is him now. I actually wanted the wings to look like the wings that the pilots wear but Simon advised not to as it would make the headphones to look like earmuffs :-( Not so nice lah. So he (Simon) drew this design and it’s awesome!!

Tattoo outline

This is what it looked like after Simon was done with the outline. Cool eh? ;-)

Completed tattoo

And this is how it looks like after he has put in the colors. I think it’s just amazing. Simon did a great job. And it was fast too, with that kind of details and shading, he took like about an hour to complete the whole thing. I love it! Greg thinks it’s cool too. :-D It so ‘perfect’, it looks almost fake! *kekeke* I think Simon will kill me if he heard this.

As for Greg… Guess what he did? So I got a headphones with wings tattoo that represents him… for those of you who knows me very well would probably have an idea but dare not say it. Or cannot BELIEF it!!!! But BELIEF IT folks… Even I am in shock (still…)

Greg\'s Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel tattoo

That’s Greg’s tattoo… (Aw…) I’m SO jealous… and awestruck. First and foremost, Greg doesn’t take pain well at all…

Very pain..pain..

That’s him getting the outline done. He just practically buried his face into the pillow the whole time. Thought I heard some muffled screams… After he said to fellow blogger Jeff, that it felt like Simon was cutting a piece of his flesh out! I dunno, I guess it’s a bit different for all people. I ‘m not saying it’s not painful, IT IS!! It didn’t feel like my flesh being cut out kinda pain… well, after all I gave birth to 2 kids…be it with or with out epidural. Have you seen the size of my kids?!! Jeff went the next day to do his tattoo of a koi fish by Simon’s sister Lina. But that you’ll have to check out his blog to read about it.I’m sure he’ll be blogging about it soon or not, because it’s actually not completed yet. He’ll have to go back on the 11th. All I have to say… it’s very nice.

So for anyone thinking about getting a tattoo… Borneo Ink is highly recommended. Most importantly it’s clean and both Simon and Lina are really good and very professional. I think they have really come a long way. Simon actually did Greg’s first tattoo when they were only operating from home here in Pantai Hill Park many, many moons ago. You can’t compromise experience too you know…

Rawa Island… paradise on earth.

So I guess you’ve all seen the photos from our Rawa trip. It IS really as gorgeous as what you see in the photos … and even more. And mind you, we only used a point and shoot camera ya.. No ‘canggih’ SLR camera used. The water is so clear, it’s like we are swimming in a swimming pool except it’s salty :-D

We left for Rawa on the 13th for 3 days and 2 nights… I was SO tempted to stay for an extra night but we didn’t. Have to come back and besides, I was really missing the kids. Yes.. we went without the kids… It was just us and ‘the gurls’. Greg was the only straight guy in our group (as usual) I think it’s the first time (ever since they came along) that we actually went for a holiday without them. Leaving them behind was the hardest thing… well for me at least. But it was nice to have time to just be with our friends and do ‘adult’ stuff. So as you can imagine we were drinking from about noon till we went to bed!

We had SO much fun there… ofcourse the company matters alot! I was literary in stiches the whole time we were there. We laughed so much and did so many silly stuff.. Amongst the activities (in lieu of the Olympics season) was gymnastics, synchronize swimming, sand castle building competition, kite flying…. and sunbathing (practising for when we go to hell next time woh.. :-D ) And we were also re-making all the MTVs that has ever been filmed on the beach… ie: Cherish (Madonna), Honey (Mariah Carey) and there was even a scene from Titanic and Evita. *kekeke*

For those of you who are wondering where this paradise on earth is…. It’s actually in Johor. You’ll need to drive up to Mersing and take a 20 minute boat ride to the island. What’s great about this island (besides the sun, sea and sand) is that accomodation is limited and so there for it’s NOT crowded like Redang is now. So if you want to go you have to book early.

Greg and I stayed at the Safaris, which is the nicer resort. The rooms come with hot water and AC and 3 meals provided for about RM 380 a night per pax. Other then that, everything else is pretty much standard, nothing fancy. The other choice is to stay at the Le Club Rawa, which is really, really basic. To me it’s like going camping on a beach but much, much more comfortable. But the great thing about this place is that the beach is literary at your doorstep. The next time we go (this time with the kids) we want to stay at the Le Club Rawa.

Rawa Island photos

It’s up again. I’m back!

Hello everyone… I’m  back and the blog is fixed. Well actually with some help of two of my very tech savvy friends, we found out that it was nothing wrong with my blog. It was just Safari. Well anyway the bottom line is. It’s ok now. That’s what matters. And yes…….. I know… I’m just SO behind with my post!! Arggh!! :-(

But actually having that problem did bring some good things. I’ve learnt a few things while trying to ‘fix’ it and as you already noticed (for those of you who visit here often) I have changed my template and have this cool new custom header that rotates! Cool huh… What happen was, I thought that my old template caught a bug or something which drove me to look for another one. Found this one and was compelled to learn how to make a custom one. :-) I’ve always wanted to make my own but was never really bothered and was kinda worried that I’ll mess things up and couldn’t get it back to normal.

So weeks has passed, many things happened during this time. I will post them up as soon as I can. But mainly it’s just photos of our trip to Cameron Highlands with Greg’s aunt and uncle and the kids. We (G and I) went for another holiday with ‘the gurls’ to this paradise island, Pulau Rawa. Aiden finally received his Yellow 1 belt on Monday.

So hang on, I’ll be working really hard to update and post up all the photos that I’ve made into a slide… I’m a bit scared.. because it was after I tried to post the slide that all things went out of line.

Under repair

Hi!! I’m still here. It’s just that something has happened to my blog and

I’m trying to get it all sorted out. So please, please bare with me okay!

I’m trying my best to get it sorted.
